Demonstrating the Wallwork Group’s commitment to the staff of the recently acquired business of Consett based Metaltech, the company has confirmed a name change to Wallwork Newcastle and announced a raft of developments.
A minimum £250,000 investment is planned for this year. This will see a new building on the site to house a new surface treatment process. It will also allow for the increase in capacity of the electricity supply to the premises, which will help with future expansion. Work will proceed on these as quickly as planning permission allows.
The site covers an area of 2.5 acres, some of this space is to be used for a larger parking and loading area to help with extra deliveries. Importantly, this enables the site to become a transport hub for the North of England and Southern Scotland. Wallwork has a nationwide fleet of 50 commercial vehicles that ensures safe and reliable pick-up and delivery of customer orders.
Site director, Luke Collins, commented, “Since Metaltech joined the Wallwork Group, last October, business has risen by 30 percent and we have been able to expand staff numbers by 15 percent to help with the increased demand. I am sure with these investments we will continue to grow the business in the North East and Scotland from this location.”
“The response from existing customers of the business has been fantastic. Many are keen to take advantage of the extra benefits and services that the site is able to offer now that it is part of the Wallwork Group,” added Group CEO, Peter Carpenter.
Wallwork Group, specialise in the thermal processing and hard coating of metals for the aerospace, automotive, motor sport, medical device and precision engineering sectors. The company headquarters is based in Bury near Manchester, with additional sites in Birmingham and Cambridge.
