Surface engineering specialists, the Wallwork Group, return to Advanced Engineering in the Aero Engineering section Stand P52 Hall 3. The range of Wallwork heat treatments and hard coatings enables the company to offer clients choices to meet their technical and commercial objectives. This is backed by extensive R&D facilities to allow alternative processes to be fully evaluated and completely new techniques developed to address more unusual problems. Once developed, the company has extensive capacity to scale-up volume, whether the item is a small light weight pressing or a casting of several tonnes.
With three sites in Manchester, Birmingham and Cambridge, all staffed by skilled engineers with many years’ technical experience, the company provides a nationwide service for heat treatment, hard coatings and vacuum brazing with the assurance of independent accreditation.
“We are problem solvers, improving characteristics such as hardness and friction resistance to give critical components extended service life, less wear and greater performance,” asserts CEO Peter Carpenter. “In this way we help our clients meet their goals for higher productivity, greater reliability and lower life-time cost of operation,” he concluded.
All processes are backed by detailed quality assurance procedures. This year the company has significantly extended the scope of its Nadcap approvals, bringing both Cambridge and Manchester vacuum brazing workshops into the scheme. In addition, the company has multiple process specific approvals for processes from aerospace primes such as Airbus, BAe Systems, Rolls Royce, Moog and more.
